Audi Tt Roof Not Working

It has happened 3 times now that the roof will not work.

We are really wondering if it is a manufacturing problem not sovled since 2008 we had problems with the roof top of our convertible audi tt 2008. Roof will not open computer says soft top cannot be used answered by a verified audi mechanic. Audi are staying quite tight lipped about the car s origins although we can be sure that it is named after the famous isle of man tt race. To do so you use the special tool key you will find in a special compartment left of the dashboard.

I have not done it yet on my tt but on my previous audi 2006 s4 cabriolet i had to do it twice in 5 years and resetting it did the trick. Twice i was in france i have also had problems with the flaps that will not go down when the roof is open. To reset the roof you have to open close the roof completely by hand. I have a 2008 roadster.

This one has been fixed four times and as of today july 2013. Audi seem happy to fix the problems only for them to happen again within weeks. All going well until the lid for the roof cover box goes up for a few inches then stalls. Ive been fiddling with a not working top on my 94 audi cab as well.

So far i have been opening the roof manually but you know nice when things could work. Then a couple of months ago i tried to open it and it now only goes up about 2 or 3 inches then stops. It s the same issue as described often. Audi tt 2008 power roof fault.

We still have the problem. The top went down. Resulting in me having to take it back to the dealership in england. Originally manufactured as a 2 door coupe this car is a fast roadster available as a nippy 1 8l all the way up to a top of the range 3 2l.
