When i bought my 98 cabriolet with hydraulic roof it initially didn t look good with the hydraulic roof refusing to fold away. We are really wondering if it is a manufacturing problem not sovled since 2008 we had problems with the roof top of our convertible audi tt 2008. It sat in the driveway for 4 days without being used. The seller and myself folded the roof away manually and placed the hardtop over the car.

We still have the problem. The first step is to connect an audi compatible scan tool to the vehicle and check for faults. To do so you use the special tool key you will find in a special compartment left of the dashboard. Hi everyone i pulled into the driveway last week with my 01 tt roadster 1 8t parked the car put the top up and shut it off.

The next time i got in it i unlatched the manual latch for the top the warning light on the instrument cluster showing the top was unlatched came on as expected. Then diagnose the concern based on those faults. I have not done it yet on my tt but on my previous audi 2006 s4 cabriolet i had to do it twice in 5 years and resetting it did the trick. This one has been fixed four times and as of today july 2013.

To reset the roof you have to open close the roof completely by hand. The convertible top icon keeps flashing even when the top is up and closed and the windows don t function properly don t go up all the way car has to be turned off on to get them to go up etc. We had problems with the roof top of our convertible audi tt 2008. Fast forward several months and it s time to look at the roof problem.
